Removing lights from Background

Composite, general tidy up and grading on this image of a knife maker in his workshop.

Removed the flash head using the empty background plate.

This was shot with the retouch in mind as the sign on the wall is of some significance.

Portraiture retouching.

Removing some obvious blemishes on the skin, particularly in the chin area.

Levels, contrast, saturation pulled out to make the best of the lighting that has been used here.

Colour of t-shirt moved from blue.

Hint of flare added from the left.

Overall grade applied after all adjustments were made.

Compositing

Using various plates I was able to composite the final image together, removing all of the flags and adding in relevant areas of light/ shade created by the flags.

In total about 8 or 9 different images were used to create the final image.

Retouching

Examples of retouching work, before and after.

Retouching can range from things as simple as spotting and general tidying, levels and other ajustments, some clipping path work to complex composites with large amounts of elements.
